CIDER BAKED PORK CHOPS

Preheat oven Electric 200C/Fan 180C, Gas 6
Servings: 4 people

Equipment

  • chopping board & sharp knife
  • jug
  • grater
  • liquidiser for crumbs
  • Casserole dish – lightly greased

Ingredients

  • 75 g mushrooms
  • 1 cooking apple
  • 1 onion
  • 4 pork chops
  • ½ pt cider
  • 1 tbsp oil/fry light
  • 50 g fresh breadcrumbs
  • 100 g grated cheese
  • Sage
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  • Method
  • Peel and slice onion
  • Peel and slice apple
  • Peel and slice mushrooms
  • Peel, core and slice apple
  • Heat oil in frying pan and brown chops, put to one side
  • Add onion ,mushroom and apple cook for 2-3mins
  • Place vegetables in base of casserole
  • Season with salt, pepper and a sprinkle of sage
  • Lay chops on vegetables
  • Pour over cider and cook for 1 hour or until tender
  • Mix cheese with breadcrumbs
  • Sprinkle over chops and return to oven for further 20-30mins
