SHORTBREAD BISCUITS
Preheat oven Electric 180 C/Fan 160 C, Gas 4

Equipment
- mixing bowl
- sieve
- Baking trays lined with greaseproof paper
Ingredients
- 300 g butter 10½ oz
- 120 g icing sugar 4 oz
- 150 g custard powder 5 oz
- 280 g plain flour 10 oz
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
- Sieve icing sugar, flour and custard powder together. Mix well
- Add butter and vanilla essence
- Rub in butter – can use a mixer
- Mix to a smooth dough – you might need to add a little milk if it is too dry
- Shape into balls
- Press down with a fork
- Bake for approx. 10 mins
- Store in air tight tin
