CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE
Preheat oven, Electric 160 C/Fan 140 C, Gas 3
Servings: 12 people
Ingredients
- 9 oz SR flour
- 6 tbsp Cocoa heaped
- 1½ tsp baking powder heaped
- 6 oz caster sugar
- 1 dsp black treacle
- 1 tsp black treacle
- 7½ fl oz sunflower oil
- 7½ floz milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 8 in cake tins greased, base lined
Chocolate Icing
- 2½ oz butter
- 4 tbsp Cocoa
- 8 oz Icing sugar
- 3 tbsp hot milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
Instructions
- Place all cake ingredients in mixing bowl/bowl of food processor
- Mix until smooth
- Divide between tins and bake 25-30 mins
- Remove from tins and leave to cool
Chocolate Icing
- Sieve icing sugar
- Melt butter
- Blend in cocoa
- Heat milk in microwave
- Stir icing sugar, milk and vanilla essence into cocoa mixture
- Beat until smooth
- Leave to cool and use to sandwich and top cake
