CRUNCHY CUSTARD BAKED APPLES

Preheat oven Electric 180 C/Fan 160 C, Gas 4
Servings: 6 people

Equipment

  • Large baking dish
  • sharp knife & chopping
  • board
  • zester/grater
  • lemon squeezer
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 500 g carton ready made custard
  • 6 Bramley apples
  • 1 orange
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 6 tbsp crunchy granola with almonds

Instructions

  • Take rind and juice from orange, place in mixing bowl
  • Mix in sugar and cinnamon
  • Half apples through the middle and remove the core
  • Toss in the orange mixture
  • Pour custard into baking dish
  • Arrange apples, cut side up, on top of custard
  • Drizzle over any remaining orange juice
  • Sprinkle over granola
  • Bake for 20 mins then cover with foil and bake for further 10 mins
  • Serve with cream or ice cream
