CHEESE BREAD

Preheat oven Electric 200 C/Fan 180 C, Gas 6
Servings: 12 slices

Equipment

  • sieve
  • mixing bowl
  • mixer with dough hook/wooden spoon
  • 2lb loaf tin greased and floured

Ingredients

  • 400 g Strong Plain flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 7 g dried yeast
  • Pinch mustard
  • Pinch pepper
  • 100 g grated cheese

Instructions

  • Sieve flour, salt, pepper mustard into mixing bowl
  • Add yeast and mix through
  • Add cheese and stir through
  • Start mixer and add approx. ¼pt lukewarm water to make a soft dough
  • Knead until smooth and forms ball in middle of bowl – do this using a wooden spoon if no dough hook
  • Cover with oiled cling film and leave to double in size – about an hour
  • Remove from bowl and knead on a floured surface for about 6-10 mins -should be a smooth, soft dough
  • Shape into sausage and put into tin, pushing the dough into the corners with your knuckles
  • Cover with oiled cling film and leave to rest for 20-30 mins
  • Bake for 20 mins, remove from tin and return to oven for further 5 mins
