CHOCOLATE FLORENTINE BARS

Preheat oven Electric 180 C/Gas 4
Servings: 21 people

Equipment

  • 30 x 20 baking tin greased and lined

Ingredients

  • 300 g Dark Chocolate
  • 50 g Butter
  • 50 g Caster Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g Mixed Fruit and Nuts (mixed peel, pistachios and dried cranberries)
  • 100 g Ground Almonds

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate and pour into base of tin
  • Chill for approx. 30 mins
  • Cream butter and sugar
  • Beat in egg
  • Fold in ground almonds and fruit/nuts
  • Spoon the mixture over the set chocolate
  • Smooth out
  • Bake 20 – 25 mins
  • Leave to cool
  • Cut into fingers
