CAULIFLOWER WITH GARLIC

Preheat oven, Electric 190 C/Fan 170 C, Gas 5

Servings: 4 people

Equipment

  • casserole dish
  • chopping board & sharp knife
  • garlic press
  • pan with lid
  • frying pan
  • colander

Ingredients

  • 1 small cauliflower
  • small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 rashers bacon
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Finely chop onion
  • Dice bacon
  • Peel and crush garlic
  • Break cauliflower into florets and cook in boiling water for 4 mins
  • Drain well
  • Melt 1oz butter and oil, add bacon and onion. Cook for 5 mins
  • Add garlic and mix well
  • Stir in remaining butter, breadcrumbs and parsley
  • Place cauliflower in casserole dish, top with breadcrumb mixture
  • Cover and bake for 10 mins
  • Remove cover and cook for further 5 mins
