APPLE, PEAR AND CHERRY COMPOTE

Ingredients
4
eating apples

medium
Bramley apples
4
firm pears

tbsp
sugar
or to taste

dried sour cherries or cranberries
Instructions
Peel, core and cut apples into chunks
Peel and thickly slice pears
Put apples and pears into pan with sugar and scant 30ml water
Cover and gently cook for 15 mins, keep checking.
Bramley should collapse to a puree and the eating apple and pear should be tender.
Add the cherries/cranberries and stir in, more sugar might be needed
Cool and store in the fridge
Notes
Keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days, lovely as a dessert with vanilla yogurt or ice cream or ideal for breakfast
