APPLE, PEAR AND CHERRY COMPOTE

Ingredients
- 4 eating apples
- 2 medium Bramley apples
- 4 firm pears
- 3 tbsp sugar or to taste
- 140 g dried sour cherries or cranberries
Instructions
- Peel, core and cut apples into chunks
- Peel and thickly slice pears
- Put apples and pears into pan with sugar and scant 30ml water
- Cover and gently cook for 15 mins, keep checking.
- Bramley should collapse to a puree and the eating apple and pear should be tender.
- Add the cherries/cranberries and stir in, more sugar might be needed
- Cool and store in the fridge
Notes
Keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days, lovely as a dessert with vanilla yogurt or ice cream or ideal for breakfast
