GINGERBREAD

Equipment

  • 8" Square Lined Tin
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 250 g Plain Flour
  • tsp Ground Ginger
  • ½ tsp Mixed Spice
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 g Margarine
  • 100 g Brown Sugar
  • 8 tbsp Black Treacle
  • ¼ pint Hot Water

Instructions

  • Sieve flour,spice and bicarbonate of soda into bowl
  • Melt sugar,margarine,syrup and black treacle. Cool slightly
  • Beat eggs
  • Combine syrup mixture with flour,egg and hot water. Put into an 8" square,lined tin
  • Bake for 45 mins

Preheat oven Electric 180 C/Fan 160 C, Gas 4
