CHEESE BREAD
Preheat oven Electric 200 C/Fan 180 C, Gas 6
Servings: 12 slices
Equipment
- sieve
- mixing bowl
- mixer with dough hook/wooden spoon
- 2lb loaf tin greased and floured
Ingredients
- 400 g Strong Plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 7 g dried yeast
- Pinch mustard
- Pinch pepper
- 100 g grated cheese
Instructions
- Sieve flour, salt, pepper mustard into mixing bowl
- Add yeast and mix through
- Add cheese and stir through
- Start mixer and add approx. ¼pt lukewarm water to make a soft dough
- Knead until smooth and forms ball in middle of bowl – do this using a wooden spoon if no dough hook
- Cover with oiled cling film and leave to double in size – about an hour
- Remove from bowl and knead on a floured surface for about 6-10 mins -should be a smooth, soft dough
- Shape into sausage and put into tin, pushing the dough into the corners with your knuckles
- Cover with oiled cling film and leave to rest for 20-30 mins
- Bake for 20 mins, remove from tin and return to oven for further 5 mins
